service has been developed in answer to needs that have been verified. The needs of
adolescents to acquire the necessary knowledge and training to enable them to
develop proper attitudesand acquire sound values in relation to marriage and family
life has been met by Family Life Education programmes. Marriage Preparation
programmes have been developed in answer to the need for immediate preparation for
marriage, providing an opportunity for the couple to evaluate their understanding of
each other as persons and the quality of their commitment to each other in their
sacrament relationship. The development of responsible parenthood programmes have
been constantly encouraged in view of the need to regulate births and space
children.
